Hello Moonriver: Continuing the Kusama Ecosystem Integration

We are very excited to announce that DIA oracles are integrated into Moonriver, Moonbeam’s canary network connected to the Kusama Network.

Moonriver is the companion network to the Moonbeam Network, the Ethereum compatible parachain on Polkadot. Moonriver provides a permanently incentivized “canary network” for Moonbeam: developers can access and use the latest builds of Moonbeam in a live environment connected to the Kusama Network. New code ships to Moonriver first, where it can be hardened under real economic conditions. Once proven, the same code ships to Moonbeam on Polkadot.

By mirroring Ethereum’s Web3 RPC, accounts, keys, subscriptions, logs and more, Moonriver minimizes the changes required to run existing Solidity smart contracts on the network. Ethereum projects can simply replicate their DApp and deploy it to Moonbeam using Hardhat, Truffle, Remix, and other popular deployment tools. While Moonbeam code launches to Moonriver first, the network will continue to live on as a parachain on Kusama, with its own projects and specialized use cases.

We are excited to announce that DIA’s oracle infrastructure is live on the Moonriver Network (contract address). DIA’s crowd-sourced and -validated price feeds will fuel Moonbeam’s canary network. Currently, the oracle delivers data feeds for BTC, DIA, ETH and USDC prices and will be continually expanded. The integration will enable DApps to directly communicate with trusted data before deploying on Moonbeam, as well as enabling new parachain specific use cases.

Michael Weber , DIA Association’s Founder comments:

“The growing number of scaling solutions in the Polkadot/Kusama ecosystem are enabling a better development of product specific use cases and a generally more efficient blockchain space. We are very excited to continue working with the Moonbeam team to integrate DIA’s oracle services into Moonriver parachain.”

Nate Hamilton , Moonbeam’s Head of Ecosystem explains:

“Since the start of the project, the Moonbeam team has always put the user experience first. This is why integrations like DIA add important value to our portfolio since reliable off-chain data is a key component for many dApp builders in our ecosystem. Moonriver developers will now be able to access DIA’s trustable data and oracle infrastructure.”
